Our Organisation
PKAVS is a diverse charity that improves the quality of life for the people of Perth & Kinross through four main service Hubs - Carers; Mental Health & Wellbeing; Minority Ethnic Communities and Third Sector. PKAVS advances the lives of thousands of disadvantaged local people every year, as well as supporting, promoting and developing the wider Third Sector in Perth & Kinross.

PKAVS Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub provides community-based and outcomes-focussed support for adults recovering from mental ill health. With services in Perth City and the rural town of Blairgowrie, our Hub offers a diverse range of activities spanning areas such horticulture, joinery, arts & crafts, catering and physical health. Activities support clients on their recovery journey, producing positive outcomes in relation to health & wellbeing, knowledge and life opportunities, independence and self-confidence.

Through funding from The Scottish Government – Aspiring Communities Fund, PKAVS requires two Activity Engagement Workers (Young People) to join the Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub team. Based at either The Walled Garden in Perth City or Wisecraft in Blairgowrie, we are looking for two motivated persons, dedicated to engaging and supporting young clients aged 16-25 years experiencing mental health issues. You will be working as part of a small, supportive and dynamic staff team assisting young clients to develop skills to meaningfully shape their futures for the better and enhance their overall wellbeing. You will work closely with the Hub’s Activity Engagement Workers, encouraging younger clients to partake in activities and provide assistance when needed. Outreach work will be a large part of this role - meeting with partnership agencies, delivering presentations and talks, and 1-1.

Excellent organisational and written skills are an essential element of this role. You must be a people focused person, self-motivated and a good communicator, with a proven track record of establishing strong professional working relationships.
Ability to travel independently in the course of your work and having access to a car is essential for this role.

Should you require further information on the post, please contact Sarah Oelmez or Laura Pack, Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub Managers on 01738 631777/01250 874777.
